The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal
service organization with almost 2 million members. It provides members and
their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic
Church, their communities, families and friends.

As a member of the Knights of Columbus you and your family enjoy many
benefits, including 12 free issues annually of Columbia magazine, the world's
largest Catholic family magazine, eligibility to join the Knights of Columbus
top-ranked
life insurance program, and many more family and personal benefits. Our
mission is to help the church. Who is the church? Is it the Pope, the
Cardinals, the Bishops, the Priests, the Deacons, the People who teach CCD,
the people who attend mass at Saint Bridget’s and surrounding churches; is it
you? The answer is all of the above.
Benefits of
being a member of Maynard Council of the Knights of Columbus include: Church
Activities: Pancake Breakfasts, St. Patrick's dinner and entertainment,
Helping at Saint Bridget's Bingo on Friday Night at 7:PM, Coats for Kids,
Parish Summer Cook Out, Ushering at Mass; Youth Activities: yearly Basket
Ball Free Throw, Communion Breakfast for the First Communion Class; Family
Activities: Parish Summer Cook Out; Community Service: Blood Drive, and
Parades; Council Activities: Trips to the Red sox’s, Trips to Fox Woods,
Charity Drive (tootsie Roll) for Mentally and Physically Challenged Children,
Irish Night Dinner, Polish Night Dinner, Italian Night Dinner. Helping church
ministries. We know many of you are too busy and at
this time you do not want to participate in any activities. That is OK.
Membership in the
KofC can still be a benefit to you and your family.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in
union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. A practicing Catholic
is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the
Church. Application blanks are available from any member of the Knights of
Columbus. Insurance membership is optional. You do not have to participate in
the insurance program.

Any member in good
standing, is eligible for membership in the Fourth Degree. The primary
purpose of the Fourth Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by
promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Knights'
respective countries through active membership in local Fourth Degree groups
(called "assemblies"). Certain members of the Fourth Degree serve
as honor guards at civic and religious functions, an activity that has brought
worldwide recognition to the Knights of Columbus. Members of the Maynard
Council usually join the Edward F. McSweeney Assembly #400. For more

Most Families work
together for the greater good of the Council and their Church.
